To anyone who has been told the trades are a fallback,
We are building the school we wanted to be able to send people to.
Two companies started this. One flies — a flight school and commercial operator training pilots and aircraft mechanics. One digs — a well, pump and water systems service company that shows up when a family's water stops running. Between them they had the same problem for years: the people they needed did not exist in sufficient numbers, and the schools were not making them.
The conventional options were all broken in the same direction. Community colleges hand out degrees and few certifications. Trade schools hand out one or two credentials, then nothing — no ownership, no retirement, no route to running your own shop. Everybody graduates with debt and a narrow skill, into an industry desperate for broad ones.
So the answer we landed on is deliberately strange: a five-year technical institute that owns itself. An airfield on one side, a trades yard on the other, and an employee stock ownership plan underneath the whole thing. Students are not customers buying a credential — they are the workforce the company is investing in, and eventually the shareholders it answers to. Nobody pays tuition. Everybody leaves with certifications, shares, an annuity that has been growing since their first week, and the option of capital to open their own division.
We are not going to oversell where this stands today. The institute is pre-launch: funding is being raised, FAA certifications are in application, and the first campus is not built yet. What exists already is two working companies, a full curriculum, a legal and financial framework, and a straight answer to any question you ask about the timeline.
The two companies underneath
Not sponsors, not logos on a wall. The institute is built out of their operations, their instructors and their job sites.
Alpine Aviation
A working flight school and commercial operator. It supplies the aviation wing's instructors, its fleet model, and its flight-line culture.
- Fixed-wing and rotor flight instruction
- Commercial operations experience
- CFI / CFII instructors, A&P with Inspection Authorization
- The template for graduate-led aviation service divisions
Oasis Well Pump
A live well, pump and water systems service company. It supplies the trades wing's journey-level instructors and the real job scopes the curriculum is written against.
- Well drilling and pump service
- Water filtration and treatment systems
- Field-experienced trade instructors
- The most-funded shape of graduate-led division
Where this actually stands
The launch sequence, with nothing hidden. Months are counted from the close of initial funding, not from today.
Accreditation and certification dates depend on regulators, not on us. Ask admissions for the current status of any specific credential and you will get the real answer.
What the first campus costs
Initial investment of $31.1 million covers campus, fleet, facilities and working capital. Here is where it is planned to come from.
Bar widths are proportional to the $15M anchor. Government benefits are recurring annual support, not part of the $31.1M initial raise. Figures are from the institute's financial model and are not an offer of securities.
Who answers for it
Board of Directors
Includes ESOP trustees who carry a fiduciary duty to plan participants — which means to the students, once they vest.
Institute leadership
An Institute President with VPs for Academic, Operations and Finance, plus program directors for the aviation and trades wings.
Division Network Manager
Oversees graduate-led divisions — quality audits, safety compliance and the mentorship pairings.
An advisory board draws on practitioners from aviation, construction, energy and employee ownership. The ESOP itself is ERISA-governed: independent trustee, annual third-party valuation, mandatory participant disclosure. The Ownership page covers what that means for you specifically.
If this sounds like the school you wish had existed, it is not too late to be in the first cohort.
